Modus Group expands the CityBee service to Poland

The international group of companies Modus Group is expanding one of its strategic areas, the CityBee car-sharing service, to the Polish market. The first CityBee cars will hit the roads in Warsaw, Gdansk, Krakow, Wroclaw, and Poznan this autumn, and later it is planned to expand this service to Lublin, Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Lodz, Katowice and Bialystok.

“In central and eastern Europe, CityBee was the first to start offering a car-sharing
service which is our stimulus to be a step ahead. The Polish market is known to us - here the Modus Group has been developing renewable energy projects since last year. The size of the market is also promising for car sharing development, especially since there is still no competition in this area. Having evaluated the demand for this service in Lithuania, we decided to launch it in Poland as well,” says Liudas Liutkevičius, Chairman of the Modus Group Management Board.

The first CityBee cars that will hit the roads of Poland will be used for the removal
and transportation of large cargoes. These will be VW and Fiat cars with a cargo space of at least 10cc. CityBee will be launched in Poland with a fleet of 200 cars which will be gradually filled up. The introduction of CityBee passenger cars is being planned for a later development stage.

“A car-sharing service, like green energy projects, is currently a priority of the Modus Group. This strategic direction resulted from the decision to invest in areas where relevance and demand will only grow in the future. Car sharing is one of the services, the need for which is increasing. It is estimated that by 2025, cars will be shared by three times more customers than in 2017. We will seek to meet growing consumer needs,” summarises L. Liutkevičius.

According to the Chairman of the Modus Group Management Board, the activity in Poland will serve as a more comprehensive perception of the European market and will help to decide which countries to choose for the follow-up. A group of companies in Poland has established a local CityBee office which will promptly provide customer service.
